Time to Decorate

Hey Everyone!  I have decided to write about my room.  Mainly because I basically redecorated it almost completely.  I did not take any before pictures because it was too pitiful, and who wants to see that!  So, I will just walk you around the room clockwise.  First, we have the door area.

To finish this area I had to do some shopping, which was a little unfortunate because I was on a tight budget, but some things I consider a priority.  For example, the black shoe rack in the picture, I use the top for my dishes and utensils.  The second shelf I use for a couple books and the only two movies I brought.  The last three I use for my shoes.
I also had to get a hanger for my door because, I had no where else to hang my coat, belts, bags, and scarf.
I found myself missing my dog, Izzy, so I decided to use my sketchbook as decoration, and I hung it up next to my calender, which ironically has a panda for this month,  it looks very Asian.

I will give the credit of this idea to Kammy.  She makes signs to sell and people buy them to put on their walls.  A lot of the time she uses a biblical quote or saying.  So I decided to write Psalms 37:3-8 on some construction paper and put it to the right of my door.  Now, whenever, I leave I will be reminded of the promises God has given in these verses.

Now before anyone says it, yes I know what that mosquito net looks like.  In my defense it was the only one I could find that would get even close to reaching the ceiling, but I still had too extend it with string.
The blue on the wall behind the bed is actually giant sheets of construction paper.  It is against the policy to paint the walls, but I had to do something about the wall because it was scuffed up looked very boring.  So from the blue paper, I decided to make my room feel as happy as possible.  Mary had come and helped put up the paper and gave a couple other decorating ideas.

I bought this sticker here in Hualien.  I bought it because it reminded me of home, and it makes me feel peaceful looking at it.  My end goal is to make this my reading corner.  Hopefully, I will be able to find a nice beanie bag chair for it soon.

This is just part of the wall next to the dandelion sticker that I felt even with paper looked empty.  So I put up some encouraging words.  The one on the left is actually a birthday card sent from my sister and brother-in-law, Kaitlin and Joe.  I was very pleased it matched perfectly.

And I have two beds!  I have no clue why, because I do not share the room with anyone, my "roommate," Christy, has a room like this right next to mine, and the only thing we share is the bathroom and closet space in-between.

This is the bed I sleep in, which is probably obvious because that is were the mosquito next is.  But I thought I would actually say so just in case.  Behind my bed on the wall is a prayer, or saying of sorts.  I placed it there because it is a good reminder to read before going to bed and when waking up in the morning.

This verse is to the right of my bed.  I picked it specifically because it helps me keep a positive and focused outlook.

Next to the Deuteronomy verse is one of my photo colleagues.  I decided I did not bring enough pictures with me so I printed some here.  The big heart in the middle was one of Mary's decorating ideas.  I use it for my shopping list because it is really hard to forget about when it is hanging on a giant yellow heart with my name!  We made it into a balloon, and then on the string I wrote "God's love never fails" over and over again.

Here are more great verses from Deuteronomy.  These ones focus on God's greatest command, to love him with all our hear, soul, and might, and that we should remember, meditate, teach, and live out this command.

The other side of the room, which is with the normal white wall, but I feel it no longer looks dull, so the blue paper was not necessary.

The first wall colleague I put up.  I brought the photos for this one from the States.  I bought the wall stickers here in Hualien.  Then over the past few weeks I have been hanging up some items that I have collected.  To the right I have started tapping up my train tickets and a few memories I made when I went to Toronto.  To the left at the top, are envelopes sent from some family members.  Also, I taped up some Bible verse magnets to continues the theme I have on the other side of the room.

Next I wanted to decorate the mantle.  So I went with a quote I heard from the movie "God's Not Dead."  God is good all the time, all the time God is good-something I believe is a great reminder.

Lastly, is the best wall sticker I have.  It was long awaited for, due to it taking over a month to get shipped to the CEI school.  Funny story really,  I ordered it on amazon, and I found out a little over a week ago that they never actually shipped it!  Of course, the status online said shipped, but when I tried to track it, all I got was package is does not exist...wonderful.  Thankfully, the situation was resolved and the one that was resent arrived just shortly before I had to leave.
